Kayak expedition
Our most unique experience.
Two days on the Mondego, just the two of you. You paddle, you find your own camping spot on the riverbank, you eat dinner at a riverside restaurant and paddle back under the start to your tent. In the morning you wake up to the sound of the river and set off again. No guide following you. No group to keep up with. Just a map, a pair of expedition kayaks and the Mondego stretching out ahead of you.
This is the most special ways to spend two days in Central Portugal. People travel from across Europe just for this.
How it works - itinerary
Before you set off
Day 1
We meet you at our place. We help you organise your kit, go through everything you need and answer any questions. We drive you to the starting point, run through the route and give you a short practice session on the water. Then you're off.
Paddle at your own pace along one of Central Portugal's most beautiful stretches of river. Stop when you want, swim when you want. As the afternoon draws in you'll arrive at one of the most beautiful river beaches in the region. Find your spot, set up camp and make it yours for the night. This part is an adventure in itself. Once you're settled, paddle across the river to the restaurant for dinner - a proper meal with a view, right on the water. Then paddle back to your tent under the stars.

Day 2
Wake up on the river. Pack up camp, get back on the water and paddle to the finish point. We'll be there waiting to pick you up and drive you back to your car. You'll go home with stories worth telling.

This experience is for two people only. Availability is limited - we run a small number of expeditions each month.

Travelling by train or bus? Don't let logistics get in the way of the best two days of your trip. For €50 extra we handle everything - pick-up, shopping, a place to sleep the day before and a drop-off at the end. All you need is a backpack and a sense of adventure.
